Norway

I came to visit Bergen, Norway in 2007. What a marvelous place with high mountains and deep fjords. I really wish I took more pictures and had more time to walk around. Just a bit of history...

Bergen remained one of the largest cities in Scandinavia and was Norway's biggest city until the 1830s, when the capital city of Oslo became the largest. The city is located in the county of Hordaland on the south-western coast of Norway. It is the main base for the Royal Norwegian Navy (at Haakonsvern) and its international airport Flesland is the main heliport for the huge Norwegian North Sea oil and gas industry, from where thousands of offshore workers commute to their work places onboard oil and gas rigs and platforms.

(Don's note: Those crazy Lucky Charm commercials suggested that lepricons influenced rainbows. I disagree. I think Norwegians make rainbows! I was on a boat touring Bergen's fjords and my wife, and baby daughter saw this cool, marvelous sight. Using a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L lens and a handy Canon Rebel XT, I was able to capture this shot. This was processed using Canon's original image processing software, no other post production modifications. No Photoshop!)
