We pass through life so quickly we often forget to take notice of the world around us. Photography helps me see the world better as it allows me to reflect and pause on moments that I otherwise would have simply passed over. With one simple click of a shutter button, I can immortalize and cherish a memory forever.

Norway : I came to visit Bergen, Norway in 2007. What a marvelous place with high mountains and deep fjords. I really wish I took more pictures and had more time to walk around. Just a bit of history... Bergen remained one of the largest cities in Scandinavia and was Norway's biggest city until the 1830s, when the capital city of Oslo became the largest. The city is located in the county of Hordaland on the south-western coast of Norway. It is the main base for the Royal Norwegian Navy (at Haakonsvern) and its international airport Flesland is the main heliport for the huge Norwegian North Sea oil and gas industry, from where thousands of offshore workers commute to their work places onboard oil and gas rigs and platforms.

Switzerland : Switzerland is a landlocked country geographically divided between the Alps, the Central Plateau and the Jura. The Swiss population of approximately 7.8 million people concentrates mostly on the Plateau, where the largest cities are to be found. Among them are the two global cities and economic centres of Zürich and Geneva. Switzerland is one of the richest countries in the world by per capita gross domestic product, with a nominal per capita GDP of $67,384. Zürich and Geneva have respectively been ranked as the cities with the second and third highest quality of life in the world.

China : China is seen variously as an ancient civilization extending over a large area in East Asia, a nation and/or a multinational entity. China is one of the world's oldest civilizations and is regarded as the oldest continuous civilization. For centuries, it possessed the most advanced society and economy in the world through successive dynasties though it subsequently missed the industrial revolution and began to decline. With influences from the Western civilization and the introduction of capitalism and democratic free market principles, China is once again becoming a prominent power house in the 21st century.

Macau : Macau also known as Macao is one of the two special administrative regions of the People's Republic of China, the other being Hong Kong. It is ranked first in the world for life expectancy. Macau lies on the western side of the Pearl River Delta, bordering Guangdong province to the north and facing the South China Sea in the east and south. The territory features industries such as textiles and toys, as well as a notable tourist and gambling sector. Macau was a Portuguese colony and both the first and last European colony in China. Portuguese traders first settled in Macau in the 16th century and subsequently administered the region until the handover on 20 December 1999. The Sino-Portuguese Joint Declaration and the Basic Law of Macau stipulate that Macau operates with a high degree of autonomy until at least 2049, fifty years after the transfer.

From the days of Magellan to World War II, the Philippines is a country rich in history and an absolutely crazy mix of cultures from Arabian to Indian to Chinese to Malaysian to Indonesian and because it was a former U.S. colony, it also has close cultural ties to the United States. Japan : Japan is an archipelago of 6,852 islands. Most of the islands are mountainous, many volcanic; for example, Japan’s highest peak, Mount Fuji, is a volcano. It also has the world's tenth-largest population, with about 128 million people. The Greater Tokyo Area, pictured in this gallery, is the largest metropolitan area in the world, with over 30 million residents. After its fall as a military power in World War II, Japan rebuilt itself as the most robust economy in Asia. Greece : Greece is one amazing country with a rich culture that goes back to thousands of years. It had its humble beginnings in the Mycenaean and Minoan Civilizations, continuing most notably into Classical Greece, the Hellenistic Period, through the influence of the Roman Empire and its Greek Eastern successor the Byzantine Empire. In Pre-Columbian Mesoamerica many cultures matured into advanced civilizations such as the Olmec, the Toltec, the Teotihuacan, the Zapotec, the Maya and the Aztec before the first contact with Europeans.
